I was inspired today to talk about a topic that I, admittedly, was not as educated in as I would like to be whilst poking around in the /r/Philosophy subreddit: Hegemony. Specifically the type that most people relate to as social engineering. I would really like to locate some useful links to information regarding this phenomena as it currently exists in today's society. At the risk of sounding like a "foil hat", many would agree with me that the "sheeple" have collectively had the wool pulled over their eyes. Politicians and police can literally lie to our face while accidentally broadcasting the truth, and somehow the words they speak lull the great majority into denying what their own eyes tell them. Or at least, we have been programmed passive enough as a people to be unable to effectively do anything about this. People who try to stand up and speak any truth are subject to any number of horrors - the least of which are "black-bagging" by clandestine organizations within our own government. An entire branch of the intelligence agency of the U.S. government is employed to "surf the web" and crawl social media sites such as this one and disseminate so much "conspiracy theory" that the conspiracy facts are washed along and discarded with the refuse. Anyone who speaks out cleanly against the evils that lurk in our own backyard is labelled a nutjob conspiracy theorist and all their information is quietly lost in a sea of disinformation.
To me, this appears to be somewhat of a desensitization program, constantly bombarding us with so many forms of incorrect information that the truth can no longer be discerned - the needle in the proverbial haystack. Anyone who knows anything credible should share it - anonymously - here. I want this to be a place where everyone can speak freely. Perhaps we can begin to take the journey together towards true anonymity on the internet. It is possible, still. At least for the time being.
